During the Corona period, there were incidents of fire in private and government hospitals. After that, the state government made it mandatory for hospitals to conduct fire audits. According to the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life-Saving Measures Act, it is mandatory to obtain a certificate (fire audit) that the fire prevention and safety system is in good condition every six months, i.e. in January and July.

Since fire audit is mandatory, notices will be sent to hospitals that have not conducted a fire audit. In this, water supply and electricity supply of the hospitals will be disconnected and the building will be sealed by the police. Penal action will be taken from time to time. If the certificate is not submitted even after that, a case will be registered. If a case is registered, there is a provision of competent imprisonment from six months to three years and a fine of Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000.
